Getting into the workplace requires further education

As yesterday’s Sunday Times article points out, “..the increasingly automated job-hunting experience has sapped morale and often made the process impenetrable”.

All true. However, there are ways to help AI to help you. To incorporate relevant buzzwords into the CV is indeed a good start, and if sufficiently put into context this could even get you to the automated interview stage. This is where you might have to prove how you add value with all these claimed buzzwords.

University career services do what they can, but steerage towards the likes of CareerSet, VMock and Jobscan platforms is to put you at the mercy of the bots. The fact is, there’s no substitute for bespoke advice in order to optimise the chances that your CV will not only survive the ATS screening but will look good on the eye and convince the reader (human or otherwise) to check you out further. Not only that, but despite all the necessary tinkering it’s still so important that your own personality continues to show through because YOU still need to stand out from the competition

If the bots approve you stand a good chance of making it to the next step.. A look at your LinkedIn profile is how the vast majority of recruiters form their shortlist for interview, and it’s the easiest way to provide proof of what you’re claiming on your CV.
